Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Y.A.B. Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib bin Tun Razak at Dong Zen Temple

This year it is a rather special year for the Buddhists in Malaysia. The new Prime Minister of Malaysia, Y.A.B. Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak decided to vist the Wesak day celebrations at the Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple in conjunction of this year’s theme, “Malaysia for Harmony Between Religions”.

The celebrations this year at FGS Dong Zen Temple is co-organized between the Malaysian Buddhist Association, Buddhist Maha Vihara, Fo Guang Shan Malaysia and various other Buddhist associations in and around Malaysia.

Other dignatries in attendence were Y.B. Dato’ Sri Ong Tee Keat (Minister of Transport, Malaysia), Y.B. Senator Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Kun (Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Malaysia), Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun (Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development). Ven. K Sri Dhammaratana (Chief High Priest of Malaysia) and Ven. Ming Ji (Vice Chairman of Malaysian Buddhism Association) were also in attendance.
