After shooting the last ten or so Chinese weddings, it was a really nice change to switch to a Malay wedding/engagement. I have forgotten how quiet a Malay-styled ceremony can be compared to its Chinese equivalent.

My day started rather late at around 9am and on me and my partner went over to the bride’s place to first shoot the Quran recital ceremony. Was a quiet, solemn but nevertheless sweet ceremony; besides the usual seriousness when anything religious is done, we saw the closeness of family as the bride and her sister sat through the proceedings together.
