Reminiscing… Profound Parental Love

by Steven Leong on Feb.14, 2009, under Events

It was 12th August 2006, I was there at KL Convention Center’s Plenary Hall with a fellow photographer. It was a pro-bono assignment, a shoot for a Buddhist aid organisation called Tzu Chi.

It was my first time at the Plenary Hall in KL Convention Center and it was the first official shoot for my then newly acquired camera. Neither did I know anything about the nature of the performance, I just got a message from the fellow photographer that asked me if I’d shoot this for free. I did not hesitate nor ask any questions and just said, “Yes.”.

So… there I was, a bit excited and also a bit worried if I can actually shoot this properly.

And here I am now, 2yr+ later still reminiscing about this wonderful sign-language musical drama, Profound Parental Love. Dusted off the old DVD that contained the original files from the shoot today… found a few gems that I missed, reprocessed them and here you are.

To date, this is still one of my most memorable stage performance shoots and probably the most memorable stage performance that I had the opportunity to watch. River dance was spectacular… but Profound Parental Love was moving. :)
